Great facilities including picnic ground with bbq area. Basic pit bogs. Scenic walk through gorge and even nicer if you ascend to the lookouts on the ridge. Great option within an hour of Melbourne

Great spot for hiking and camping alike.

Brisbane Ranges hikes are slightly longer than You Yangs but worth the walk.

Bring food and water for the hiking.
BBQ gas stoves available for post or pre hike picnics.

Great place for a hike. There are two main tracks one beginner (Anakie Gorge Walk) about 8km to Stony Creek Reservoir and one moderate (Ted Errey Nature Circuit) about 12km to complete including hiking to the Reservoir.

Ted Errey is great for moderate hikers looking for a bit of an elevation challenge. There are some sharp rocks along the track and two lookouts for a short break. There is some rock hopping along the track which add a great element to the hike. Track is fairy easy to follow and takes around 4hrs to complete.

Clean drop dummies (2 male, 2 female).

Lots of picnic tables & always ample parking. Great point to start the Ted Errey Nature Circuit :)

At different times during the year you can see heaps of butterflies & blue wrens.

Great little hike. Not too hard. After getting over the first initial incline things get a little easier. Was fun to hike at

Anakie Gorge is a hidden gem, rich with history and beautiful scenery. The walking path is suitable for most walkers, and there's some uphill tracks for more advanced levels.

I'm a bit biased but this was my family's go-to picnic area as a kid. The only down side nowadays is that we never see koalas anymore. Has a free built in gas BBQ as well as areas for wood fire BBQ. Toilet facilities. Gazebo. Great bush walking tracks. Great place for the family, but keep an eye on your kids, there are some streams and creeks around.

I don't want the public to know about this place. Its way to perfect. You can be there for hours and have no phone reception so no one can call you and it's bliss. The birds calling all around it's a delight. Parking way easy. The few bbq hot plates you need to bring your own wood for or go find some are spread out. The trees are so nice and air so fresh. So 8f the public could just leave the place alone that would be nice.

Extensive tract of bush with countless animals, birds everywhere and even koalas in the trees! Very close to geelong which is a bonus!
