Axedale Farm Cottage & Vineyard

We had such a lovely time staying at Gilgraves Winery. I cannot express how friendly and accomodating Ken and Kaye were. When we arrived there were kangaroos bouncing through the paddocks and the house was so gorgeous (not to mention spotless – so clean and well presented). To our delite as we were unpacking our things we realised Ken and Kaye had left us breakfast supplies. And not just the basics, everything from cereal and orange juice to fresh eggs and bacon. We couldn’t have been more thrilled. There were board games, magazines and books to keep us occupied. There were lots of blankets, heaters and a roaring fire so we stayed nice and toasty the entire time. The bed was so comfortable and something about the fresh air and warm fire meant we have never slept so well in our lives. We woke up early and collected eggs from the chicken coup. Ken and Kaye had left out a bucket of feed for us to feed their pet alpacas, sheep and goats with. Which we were so excited to do. The dam had a stunning sitting area that made us wish it wasn’t freezing weather so we could properly enjoy it. The views from the wraparound veranda were to die for. This secluded getaway is perfect for couples and families. We had a perfect time, we will 100% be coming back. Thank you so much for having us.
