The Plough @ Trentham

Visited the place with group of friends, and received a warm welcome, friendly and fast service. Food, taste and the presentation was excellent. Highly recommend the place, whether you want to get a quick meal or want to enjoy it with group of people.

Great historical pub that opens for lunch over weekends. Menu is not expansive but what they offer is good. Also a good selection of wines. The quality of both food and service was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Just stopped for a quick lunch on Sunday. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We started with some warm olives. The only thing wrong was that I wish I had more. So good. But no words were spoken when I had the cottage pie. Man. Speechless. A nice glass of Rose and I was in heaven. Warm and cozy. Already planning next visit, bringing friends!

Had never been to the Trentham Plough before, but so glad I did. Great food, great beer and wine selection. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience. I love the gnocchi, but I'm told everything on the menu is scrumptious and made to perfection. The deserts are amazing. The service is friendly, professionally and generally outstanding. I recommend the restaurant to anyone. If you are vegan, as with almost every hotel in the country, expect to have some difficulty

I love this place! Delicious food, attentive & professional staff. Two courses for $32- great value. The calamari entree & the fish, chips & salad main were both perfect. Love being served warm bread rolls & butter, along with the open fire in winter. Every tin I'm in the area I enjoy a meal at The Plough- never disappointed, consistently perfect!

If you are looking for just Really. Good. Food. (and equally good drinks) this, in humble opinion, is the best place in the Macedon Ranges. I am always blown away by how delicious the food is. Service is great too. The chicken liver parfait I find myself craving on a regular basis and the Golden Gaytime dessert is beyond delicious. I have been several times now and have yet to order a disappointing meal.

Very pleasantly surprised at the tasteful decor. Very friendly efficient staff. We were presented with a complimentary small aperitif which was delicious. My friend and I ordered an entree to leave room for dessert. We both ordered the pork which was first class flavour and presentation. Dessert was to die for. I highly recommend The Plough and will definitely be returning.

Fantastic meals all round. I had the slow-cooked rolled pork with roast spiced carrots, apple & spanish onion salad with mustard sauce and it is the best thing I have ever tasted. Will be back as soon as possible!

Excellent, front of house greeting upon arrival, warm and inviting, wait staff, astute, informed and very friendly with unmatched professionalism. The lunch menu was varied and descriptive. All courses were cooked to perfection and presentation excellent.
I would definitely recommend with confidence, scrumptious.

What a treat!! Just had the Shepard's Pie and Thai Salad for lunch and the flavours were just unbelievably delicious. Coupled with super friendly and easy going service, we just had such a nice time out. Thank you

Great food and service! The slow cooked blade steak was delicious. Save some space in your tummy for the lemon & berries pannacotta too. Can't wait to come back!

Went for a ride with a few friends and dropped in for a feed. The staff were happy and helpful and the food was delicious! We will be back again soon!

Had a 3 course lunch that didn't disappoint. Great service and a nice, simple and clean set up. The fire was welcome as we'd come in from the cold. Would highly recommend and will be back.

Great mix of modern Australian with an 'olde-worlde' charm.

The staff are very friendly and attentive; the food is of a very high standard and well-portioned, and, as mentioned; the menu is modern Australian, with a comprehensive wine list.

At the time of writing it is winter, and we were delighted to be seated near the well-stoked coonara which kept us very toasty, if slightly well done lol!

Well worth a stop in for a good meal with great service in a beautiful old building in a quaint little ol' 'gold mining' town that has changed very little in the last 150 years.

For the price the meals are absolutely brilliant. The service is also some of the best I've seen. Really one of our favorite places to go for dinner when in the area.

First time at the plough, very impressed by the food and customer service. The staff were great in bringing out out kids meals first without having asked them. We'll definitely be back.

Had the 5-7pm $55 3 course & 2 drinks (schooners!) deal. You won't find better quality value deal anywhere. Its very reliable and the staff are friendly .
