Acre of Roses - A Spellbinding Retreat & Flower Farm

A gorgeous establishment located in the heart of Trentham Acre of Roses is such a charming place to stay. Sandy and Rob have outdone themselves by setting up this little paradise. From the outdoor spa and shower to the little potting shed with an indoor fireplace, what more could you want? As a couple's retreat or just looking to take in the country, Acre of Roses is the place to stay.

My stay at Acre of Roses (Minner Cottage) was an absolute dream come true! From the moment I stepped foot onto the property, I was enchanted by the picturesque surroundings and the stunning cottage. Sandy, the owner, truly went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was nothing short of perfection.

The cottage itself is a charming haven, exuding warmth and comfort in every nook and cranny. The attention to detail is remarkable – from the carefully curated decor to the thoughtful amenities provided, it's clear that every element has been thoughtfully considered. It felt like stepping into a storybook, and I instantly felt at ease.

Sandy's hospitality was second to none.. she was always available to assist with any questions or recommendations. It's rare to encounter such a dedicated and accommodating host.

I can't emphasise enough how wonderful my weekend at Acre of Roses was. It was an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and I left feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the experience. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat that offers both beauty and comfort, I wholeheartedly recommend Acre of Roses. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Thank you, Sandy, for creating such a magical getaway – I can't wait to return!

Such a cosy, unique little retreat with a million thoughtful touches. Sandy and Rob have created a wonderful space to relax and enjoy the environment and it's all a short walk from delicious local cafes. The Potting Shed was so beautiful and comfortable and it really feels like they've thought of everything. I strongly recommend a stay here if you love style and comfort.

My partner and I had our wedding at Acre of Roses and stayed in the Miners cottage for a few nights after. First thing, Sandy and Rob were simply wonderful, kind, accommodating, friendly but also respected our privacy, really couldn't have asked for more.
As for it being a wedding venue it - it was perfect, beautiful and romantic, a very quaint feeling whilst also maintaining a gorgeous rustic charm.
The property is truly loved from the ground up, and that really reflects in all the nooks and crannies that are well thought out but also interesting and quirky.
As for the miners cottage as a place to stay, it is a tale of two halves, inside you have a quiet cute and very very cozy interior, with a big wonderful kitchen and all the trappings to go with it, As well as a lovely little lounge and dining with two (!) fireplaces. the bedrooms are small but luxurious, and the bathroom with shower, steam room and free standing bath are divine.
The other side of the tale, is the Scandinavian style wooden hot tub, which is completely private and fabulously opulent while also being outdoors and undercover. It felt lavish in the middle of a cold Melbourne winter!
As well, the indoor/outdoor home theatre room complete with motorized screen and projector mount, beautiful furnishings, two heaters and a (3rd) fireplace was very cool.
For a fear of disappointment we would never have in our wildest dreams expected Acre of Roses to be as decadent and indulgent as it is. As well it is so clearly inspired by the true love Sandy and Rob have for the property and their willingness to share that with visitors.
Looking forward to many more years to come of anniversary celebrations at Acre of Roses.

Thank you Sandy and Rob for a lovely stay at the Acre of Roses Miner's Cottage. The cottage has amazing amenities. Highlights include the cedar hot tub, wood burning fire place, and well stocked kitchen (with coffee machine, freshly baked bread, croissants, spreads, bacon, eggs, bottle of bubbles and more!). Also conveniently located only a short walk to the main street of Trentham. Would highly recommend Acre of Roses for a relaxing weekend away.

I adore the energy of Acre of Roses to the point that I try to stay in the Potting Shed a few times a year. I wrote some of my book amd shot some of the photos in there! It’s a gorgeous little spot - perfect to get away for a couple of nights/ Sandy and Rob are the perfect hosts (don’t really see them!). The entire space - with the garden, the little wood stove, thoughtful kitchenette and room set up - is so romantic and quaint - and the proximity to town (you can stroll into town) - makes for a lovely relaxing space - I aways wish I could stay for longer. X

A wonderful elopement/micro wedding venue!
My partner and I had a winter-ish wedding at Acre of Roses this year and could not speak highly enough of the experience. Sandy and Rob answered a small barrage of questions before our weekend and their support and preparation helped everything run smoothly.
The team went above and beyond to get the property looking wonderful for our big day, and Sandy even added some lovely foliage arrangements for our wedding space. We were lucky enough to have good weather for an outdoor wedding, but there were also some very nice bad weather alternatives on the property.
The hot tub and aromatherapy shower were a great way to relax after all the excitement was over and our guests had gone home.
All in all it was a beautiful and private space to get married in and we look forward to returning for our anniversary.
The details, like a fresh baked loaf of bread, air purifier, set fires and boutique teas, just make the experience feel all the more cosy and well thought through.

I’m not usually one to jump online and leave reviews but our experience at Acre of Roses was so wonderful I feel compelled to acknowledge such a great place. We stayed for two nights in the potting shed. The space is cosy, intimate, welcoming and thoughtfully appointed.

Sandy and Rob were perfect hosts, unobtrusive, full of local information, more than willing to assist in any way, and made our stay at acre of roses one that we will remember for a long time to come.

WOW. I have been on many retreats and wellness stays and I have been looking to find a space close to home that captures the essence of those I’ve experienced - and I have found it. What an incredible and rejuvenating 2 nights at Acre of Roses. I was in need of some much needed self care to reset on all levels and this stay has far exceeded my expectations. The minute I stepped foot inside the luxurious Miners Cottage I felt her loving, calming and serene energy instantly. Sandy has done an immaculate job at curating a beautiful experience which has you floating in a love bubble the entire time.

The cedar wood hot tub, the steam shower, the rose petal baths to meditation in the theatre room, this is a divine wellness retreat that will make you feel like a Goddess as you breathe in the beautiful aroma of Queen Rose in all her glory 🌹

I adored the locally sourced rose produce especially the rose kefir made from the gardens rose petals. I can’t wait to order a batch to take home with me.

Sandy and Rob have such a beautiful and kind energy and I cannot wait to continue to see the evolution of this beautiful retreat and be part of many more stays experiencing rose through all of her seasonal transformations.

Imagine an easy drive from Melbourne CBD, you arrive to the cutest little town, Trentham. 3 minutes later you are at the door of a magical floral wonderland. Acre of Roses is perfection. The putting shed is divine, the cottage is so perfectly curated without looking nor feeling contrived. The local products provided mean that you don’t have to leave! I have had two visits here and I will be back in Winter as well! Did I mention the cedar hot tub and indoor/ outdoor theatre room? Heavenly! Fresh flowers in every corner? Perfection! Perfect elopement venue? Yep! I’ll meet you there and marry you up!

If you are looking for a perfect getaway for yourself or you and your partner, this little secret "potting shed" is what you are looking for. A country style shed redesigned as comfortable accommodation with a great attention for details. A lovely front yard with a rich veggies garden will be the first thing you see in the morning and the last while you sip a glass of wine under the veranda. You'll be wake up by Kookaburra and gently fall asleep with the sounds of cicadas. Not far from beautiful location such as the Trentham Falls, or Hanging Rock and Daylesford.

The most magical place to retreat to - with so many thoughtful surprises throughout the stay. Always love staying here. It's a unique and rejuvenating experience. Not to mention a fantastic location - a couple of minutes walk to the gorgeous main Street of Trentham!

The cottage is beautiful place to stay. Everything about the stay is very well thought out, and provided for, by the owners. You will not be disappointed. I would be very happy to visit again.
