Laanecoorie River Reserve

Our first free camp. Beautiful place. Clean toilets. Nice walking track to the weir. Our dog loved it and so did we!

Seriously a lovely place to camp. Not a huge area, but it's well worth it if you can get a spot. The river is utterly gorgeous 😍

There is a boat ramp and also a ramp for jet skis.

There are fire pits and public toilets there to use, as well as four bins for rubbish.

There is no internet signal or reception, though at some times you can get lucky enough to send a message.
All you need to do is drive up to the highway to get reception if needed.

It's not far from Maldon for supplies if you've forgotten something and just down the road from Bendigo.

It's a free camp site, but they ask for donations to look after the campsite bins and toilets. (Remember to take your own toilet paper 😝)

Dogs allowed as well, just need to keep them on a leash.

Very popular camp spot, fits about 18 or so vans,right on the Loddon River,afew vans had to leave as park was full. Site has grassed picnic area, toilets, water, fishing, people tend to stay a while. Definitely be back.

Spent 8 days camping here. A lovely quiet spot by the river. Other campers were very friendly and courteous. There were a couple of vehicles that stayed for a night then took off. Close to Maryborough if you need any extra supplies. My wife and I recommend this spot if you like peace and quiet.

As a recreational reserve, campers can get close to the rivers edge, to feel its energy or to lower a fishing line in, with your comforts beside you. The toilet block is close by along with walking tracks right along it all the way to the weir wall and lookout. When looking for shops and pubs with food, a travel time can be anywhere from just 10 minutes to around 45 minutes for much larger regional shopping needs being easily found. There's a large cross section of young and old in Laanecoorie, all of whom too enjoy the quieter aspects of country living, respect of the land, its people, their way of living, being highly valued, greatly sought after as more so appreciated by every local and visitor alike.

Nice river stopover

Fantastic place. The camping area isn't very big but the price is incredibly cheap. There is a toilet block. There are some camping spots facing the river. No problem getting a caravan in, with a larger caravan (22 foot plus) there are places just back from the river. Boat ramp was upgraded 2019 & is very good. Only access for 1 boat at a time but that isn't an issue. There is also a caravan park (Laancoorie Lakeside Caravan Park) if the reserver is full, also very reasonable prices. You can't go to far in either direction with a boat but still plenty of fishing opportunity.

Great camping here. Public flushing toilets and potable water available. Plenty of room and fireplaces to go around, and lots of shady trees.

Very enjoyable park free camping but with a donation box on London River toilets fire pits tables we'll looked after park

Very pleasant, been going there for many years even though it's only 10 minutes from home,a local treasure made better by recent upgrades. 👍
