Railton Hotel

Friendly country pub. Clean rooms and value for money meals. Have a walk around the town as there are some very interesting sights to see.

We booked 5 rooms. And where amazed to discover they have a breakfast room for guests at no extra cost.
Consisting of a variety of cereal, juice, milk, bread, spreads, tea, coffee, fruit etc.
4 of the rooms had a shared bathroom.
1 has an ensuite.
All rooms had towels, soap, etc.
Would recommend anyone to stay.
Staff where friendly and accommodating.

The food was so yummy and you get a lot for the price. The people are so friendly and easy going which makes for a wonderful atmosphere 😊.

We stayed overnight before starting the Overland Track. Great country pub. The owners and locals were delightful. We ate at the bistro, and the service was great. The room was clean and comfortable. Very happy with my stay, especially for the low price.

Friends and I dropped in for a Sunday lunch. Clearly popular with the locals as the dining room was well filled by 1.00 pm. Excellent, unpretentious food served surprisingly quickly considering the small kitchen staff. Portions were very generous. Staff were very pleasant and competent.

Railton Hotel is a cosy, friendly hotel in a quite country setting. We stayed the night in an upstairs room with ensuite. It was clean and homely and just like the solid old hotels of yesteryears. It was nice and quiet. There were meals provided on the night which were delicious (chicken snitty and veg) was our choice. Can recommend a stay.

Phil and Caroline are wonderful hosts! I stayed 4 nights and the room had its own bar fridge, kettle, milk, tea & coffee and a sink with hot and cold water. There is also a kitchen open every morning with access to a continental breakfast. The shared bathroom is just down the hall and separated into male and female for shower & toilet. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and looked after. The pub meals were something from the good old days! Big, tasty and served with a smile!! Thanks so much Phil and Caroline, I'll be back!!

Country pub run by friendly people, Caroline and Phil were very accommodating of us arriving just before close on a Sunday to get a supurb Roast Beef and a cold beer after a long drive and to camp the night out the back of the pub before heading to Cradle Mountain. Highly recommended 👌 👍

Great place to camp for a night. Phil & Caroline were really welcoming, felt very safe as a solo traveller. Great value - had a camp spot, a hot meal, a hot shower and two ciders for under $30. The roast chicken was delicious too! Could not recommend more highly.

Wonderful pub and terrifically friendly. We camped out the back and enjoyed hot showers and peace and quite. Carolyn was awesome and we works stay here again. 5 stars!

For what it is, it was great! A cheap camp in the backyard with adequate facilities! Lovely locals happy to chat and very accommodating behind the bar! Thanks guys! Travelled with 2 kids.

I stopped a few times in Railton Hotel (camping in the backyard) while travelling in Tasmania. The owners are very friendly, the place has a great atmosphere, and the food was fresh and excellent!

My boyfriend and I had a great time at the Railton Hotel. The owner Michael was an outstanding host who helped us out with everything we needed and was super friendly. It's one of the best hotels I've ever been in my life and I highly recommend it to everyone! Michael if you ever see this, thanks again for your great hospitality and kindness!

Great caravan stay....keep the outdoor entertainment coming....grrat day/night.....good food.

Just a small town bar with free camping in the back. I stayed here twice during my trip around Tasmania. Good bathroom for travelers, cold shower is free. Purchase a token at the bar for a hot shower.

Popped in for lunch and was surprised with its nice homely vibe ,the owners are lovely people. Great place definitely worth checking out !
