Harrington Medical Centre

After having an awful experience with receptionists at another practice, I have to say I had the opposite experience here. The doctor was great, very thorough and staff were lovely. :)

I have called the practice and both times, I have spoken to a lovely staff member. Who made sure My son received the help he needed.

I found this a friendly organised and welcoming practice. I made the right decision to register as a new patient. The doctor I saw
today was understanding patient pleasant helpful & professional.

Thank you Bronwyn for you expertise in putting together an appointment to see nurse and Dr on same appointment for me, it was a pleasure to talk to someone so helpful and caring.

Multiple times I have organized a phone consultation with my doctor. Never phones. I contract receptionist and I get accused of not showing up for appointments. I tell them it's a phone consult and the error is with them. She argues that error is mine. So, I make another Phone Consult appointment but can't happen until after the New Year. Appointment day and time comes and goes and still no Phone Consultation. Get accused again of failing to show up for set appointment when again it was set as a Phone Consultation. Reception is useless and don't do their job properly and then blame the patient for their incompetence. I live in Wingham and all I need is scripts, so I am damned sure not travelling to Harrington when I can have it sorted with a phone call. But even that is proving too much to ask. Absolutely shocking.

Just the heads up… if you do not want to be a receptionist at this medical practice you need to find a job elsewhere because some of the receptionists at this practice are definitely not doing any favours to their employers business.

The most unhelpful reception staff I have ever dealt with. I’ve come away and forgotten my regular medication. I tried to seek assistance in obtaining another script, the receptionist responded with “absolutely no way” when I asked for an appointment, and in her words, “especially given I was from out of town”.

I imagine that Harrington would attract several tourists in holidays periods. Perhaps management need to counsel staff on how to deal with people, and how to extend common courtesy and assistance to people needing medical assistance.

I phoned your Taree practice following this, and I was met with the same rudeness. The Taree receptionist told me that “what usually happens is people prepare their medication before they go away”. Thanks for the tip. Extraordinarily helpful.

A two week wait to get one stich out. Wow! Unbelievable!!

Wouldn’t recommend better off travelling or just going to hospital. I have tried them on multiple occasions to give them the benefit of the doubt because health care is hard but after a few visits definitely will NOT be back.

These people are the RUDEST receptionists I have ever encountered. If you don’t like people please work somewhere else. Someone else would be happy to be nice to the public.

Not the most considerate of youth based patients. I was struggling with a lot of pain. I was asked silly demeaning questions that had nothing to do with with me being there. Never got any further help with my unbearable condition.

This medical facility i do not like the staff lack common courtesy with no patient privacy which i think should be paramount as harrington is not a heavily populated area, Ive left this place crying on many occasions as is the albert st medical centre in Taree.

Absolutely appalled by the way I was spoken to by the reception staff. I will never contact them again.
