Visited to deposit a US dollar cheque and discovered that westpac no longer accepts them. Was told this by a rude lady who also said none of the banks do that any more … because of Covid. What a lame explanation! Called Bendigo bank and they accept. Called People’s Choice and they also accept USD cheques. Currently at Peoples Choice depositing that cheque and being charged a $15 processing fee vs. the $50 fee that Westpac used to charge.

I am not a member of Westpac. I was using your ATM at 4.30pm (Adelaide Time) at Westpac Newton. I bank with another bank, and I wanted to withdraw some money. I have used this ATM in the past on many occasions. The ATM swallowed my card so I went into the bank to inquire about why this had occurred. There were 4 tellers in conversation - and I waited 4 minutes to be served. I was the only person in the bank. I told the first lady what had happened - and another lady in the background (not addressing me) told her that they can't do anything because I don't bank with Westpac. When I questioned why this occurred - the lady in the background - who I assume is the manager, told me that she cannot tell me and that she cannot give me my card back as its policy. When I asked for an explanation on this policy so I could understand more on why my card had been taken and I couldn't get it back - she became aggressive and rude. She called me "buddy" 3 times - and her tone was dismissive and abrupt. If I was a customer, I would no longer be one. Terrible service.

This is one of the worst banking experiences ive ever had.

With 3 bank tellers focusing on one customer's issue while the customer queue grows. Wasnt even peak hour.

The elderly staff were quite incompetent.
