A good little stop near Arthur River where the wild sea meets the coast line.
It's a short drive a a maintained dirt road, with a spacious car park, equipped with toilet and picnic area.
A boardwalk out to the lookout and a easy stroll to the plaque.

What an incredible feeling. Standing at a lookout looking out into the Southern Ocean with huge waves and the most beautiful coastline. We've been back to watch the sun set over the ocean. Stunning!
It is a short drive from Arthur River with a short section of dirt road (under a kilometre). There are toilets & a dump point for RVs, a picnic shelter, and obviously the lookout.
The carpark is quite roomy for a few cars.

So wild and rugged! Great to see the tannin rich fresh water of the Arthur River spew into the crystal blue saltwater at the mouth! All the fallen logs and the rocks and just so windy and rugged!

It's a pretty cool point of interest here in Tasmania.
Easy drive, easy walk and access.
As you've come all this way to Arthur River, make sure you go here for the views ... and to experience the power of the Western wind. There's an interesting quote to read on the plaque by Brian Inder. It's all about a pebble.
It's a feel good moment to know you're on the most northwestern point of Tasmania.

Amazing views of the where the Arthur River flows into the ocean carrying huge logs from high in the mountains and gathering at the river mouth and foreshore. Spectacular place.

What an Experience is the Edge of the World on a blustery rainy day!!
The bridge is quite tight for a 50 seater coach but doable with care! The toilets are excellent as the cold wind streaming in reminds you that you might need to go!!
The small poem by Brian Inder is an Excellent touch (Wonderful man, Greatly missed in Taz )

Beautiful spot for sunset and southern lights (at the right time) - aurora Australis.

Wild & woolie when we went in Augusta with north westerlies blowing. Toilet facilities but a drop toilet system. Wooden board walks to lookout over the Arthur River. Heaps of large driftwood logs, seems a waste. Arthur River is very tannin stained which coloured the water on an outgoing tide. Plenty of parking. No overnight stays.

About a 2 hr drive from Stanley, and definitely worth it. When we we got there it was cold and really windy, we could hardly stand. It is where the Arthur River meets the Bass Strait, an awesome sight and appropriate name. We got there when it was a calm day, the waves were 8-10 ft, normally they are 30 -40 ft...truly nature is in control.

Well run park on the oval. Showers and toilets are the team changerooms. They are clean and well kept. Powered sites by the river are nice. Close to the beach and town.

Absolutely fantastic place. It is a little far to go to so make a trip of it and visit a couple of other places along the way.

The Tarkine coast is really fascinating and beautiful. This is a great example. Even on a cloudy day, it looks gorgeous here. I’m sad I didn’t catch it at sunset (it was raining cats and dogs) as it would probably have looked even more stunning.
