The Nest at Gundaroo

What a special place for a mid-week escape. We stayed in the Magpie Villa and it had everything one could possibly need; from plenty of kitchen utensils, glasses and crockery to soft bedlinen, towels and plentiful toiletries. Check-in and communication with Lana was seamless, our only regret was that our stay wasn't longer. Plenty of choice for breakfast too, and we enjoyed eating it on the verandah, perfect weather. Highly recommend, and handy if you're also booked into Grazing for dinner, it's just a short stroll.

I had a lovely stay at the Magpie room at the Nest. The room is spacious and well-appointed with a cosy vibe, helped along by the fireplace. The kitchenette had more than your standard offering, with lots of utensils, a coffee pod machine (nesspresso compatible), and a variety of breakfast options (cereal, muesli, bacon eggs, juice, milk).

In the mornings, you'll hear a lot of bird noises, and on a sunny day, the verandah is an excellent place to read and have breakfast. The fireplace and electric blanket mean you won't be cold even in the middle of winter.

The rooms are self-check-in, which made the experience easy. I also received excellent service when I accidentally left an item behind.

I absolutely recommend this place for a single person or a couple looking to get out of town and relax for a few days.

We stayed at the Nest for our wedding at Grazing in Gundaroo. The Herron Room was the perfect size for myself, my mum and the 3 bridesmaids to get ready. This included space for hair and makeup vendors, a large bathroom, multiple mirrors, hanging space for dresses, shelving to store things out of sight, mid-sized fridge and freezer. The deck was nice and green for photos. We were able to walk the 200m to the wedding venue very easily, with locals shouting congratulations as they drove past.

The room itself was clean and smelled fresh. The bed was a king and very soft. There was cereal, bread, eggs, bacon, milk and coffee for us to cook our breakfast. The hosts cleaned our room while we were away at the wedding, so we came back and it was lovely again. Would recommend.

I stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridal party and a few extras.

This is a hidden Gem and I Will be going back. They accommodated us so much and went above and beyond. The only down fall was that we didn't go back to stay their that night!

Beautiful place to stay for a getaway and close to everything.

Very nice large room with one of the best bed's I have ever slept in, in a hotel. Would love to go back when there are shops open, as we visited on good Friday. Fantastic hosts felt very welcome.

We came back, this time we stayed in the room with a loft.
Still fabulous. Again no shops opes as it is new year's . Oh well we will habe to organise ourselves better next time. Cause we will be back. The host's are magnificent.

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Nest at Gundaroo for two nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. Our room (the Heron), was very well equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits and everything we needed to cooked our own meals, we were provided all the ingredients to make a great cooked breakfast. The villa had its own wifi (fast and consistent), and a smart TV if you feel like having a lazy afternoon. Our host Sylvia was extremely accommodating and ensured we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The town itself is small and quiet with a great pub with amazing food, a great pizza restaurant and the Gundog cellar was a great experience.

Had a lovely, relaxing stay. Super comfortable bed and friendly, helpful staff. Had a yummy breakfast and loved the muesli!! Such a peaceful location that was perfect for my little getaway, I highly recommend!

Stopped at Gundaroo on our way down to the Victorian ski fields. Though only enjoyed staying at this very comfortable cottage. The owner is very friendly and helped us with the wood-fire heater which kept us snug and warm over a very cold evening and morning. In easy walking distance of nearby restaurants, and in a pretty part of the world, this is a great place to stay.

Really lovely, well equipped chalet style accommodation. Breakfast provided and everything we needed. Amazing bed. I want to buy one as so comfortable and no partner disturbance. Ne lovely in winter with the wood fire.

Lovely romantic place for a brief getaway for our anniversary, located in the heart of the cute little town of Gundaroo. Beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, with a cosy slow-combustion fire to keep us toasty warm. The room was very well laid out and much bigger than I expected, and included a kitchenette, a dining area and a huge bathroom. It would be a great base from which to explore the surrounding region.

I stayed overnight in the Cockatoo villa and it's by far the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. The villa is very spacious, it has a big bathroom, a great functional kitchen with a great sized fridge and cooking facilities and the huge bed was very comfortable. I would definitely go back again without hesitation.

Everything was spot on. Beautiful, very clean, comfy cosy bed, wish it was colder so I could have used the fire. Helpful friend staff, Sylvia was wonderful. It’s a destination place not just for a stop over.

Had a very pleasant stay at the Nest while attending a wedding in Gunning. The heritage house we booked was comfortable, clean, and beautiful.

Great spot to do bridal hair. Place is so clean and only a quick little trip out of Canberra. Highly recommend for my brides to be.

Beautiful experience! I highly reccomend staying here, it's a lovely getaway from the usual busy city life.
