Mushrooms!! We came across many different species of mushrooms along the walk. It takes approximately 35 minutes to walk around the whole park. There's a few picnic tables, a BBQ, and toilets, however there are no rubbish bins. The walk down to the cascades is covered by the trees and ferns, and is an easy flat walk, however further down there is a few narrow steps that go up with no handrails.

Hidden gem, stunning views along well defined paths, bridges criss cross slowly meandering creeks, dense foliage and towering trees, beautiful walk with nature. Definitely make it part of your Great ocean road adventure.

This is the kind of places on the great Ocean ocean road that people don't stop but they should. Beautiful walk in the forest. There are few picnic tables and toilets. Ferns are beautiful. Would definitely recommend to stop by

Beautiful "little" forest! It has a 30-40 min circular walk, immersed in a wonderful green scenery

Gorgeous cozy loop walk and stick around for late dusk to see the extraordinary glow worms!!!! Well worth the wait. Wallabies in the bush to peek at from the picnic tables. A favorite stop on a great ocean road trip. The advertised big tree, however, has fallen over. Not sure why they don’t remove the sign.

Great bush walk when passing through the Great Ocean Road, very interesting to walk through a rainforest so close to the coast.

Beautiful rainforest walk! Lovely at dusk but particularly spectacular once it’s dark and the glow worms come out.
We found the glow worms started to show around 9pm (day light savings time) once it was really dark outside. They were most prominent near the waterfall.

Be mindful of using a torch as the glow worms are sensitive to the light and will turn off their glow.

10/10 worth the visit!!
Walk time around 40 min.

Really pretty place, with a great picnic area and beautiful walking trail. I highly recommend going at night to see the glow worms, it's an amazing experience! The restrooms are down a set of stairs from the car park and within easy distance from the picnic area, and they're quite clean. On the whole, a great place to go, however you can only get to the picnic area via stairs, so I wouldn't recommend to anyone in a wheelchair or not able-bodied.

We arrived around 11pm, this was our experience:
- the glowing worms are great! They were on the rock faces and were very pretty and unique
- very dark and spooky! No light at all, and I was with one other person but we would definitely recommend going as a group
- short walk up to Anne's cascade but turned back as it was so dark, which took ~20 mins total. But there is also a circuit walk ~35 mins
- If you're staying around the area with a group of friends, would definitely be worth a visit
- but wouldn't recommend driving a long distance solely for this experience or if going alone

We visited here after asking shop assistant if it was worth the 1 hr drive to maits rest, she suggested melbas gully as it was alot closer, so we took her advise, and were not dissapointed. Gorgeous rainforest, with giant ferns, easy walkways, boardwalks, casc ades, and waterfalls. You can spend a long time here, carpark is not suitable for RVS or caravans. Stunning views, fungi, mushrooms, moss, wood trees, lots of snails, birds.
Takes around 15mins to walk to Anne's cascades.

We loved the thrill of walking after the forest is pitch black... Take torch lights with you but use mobile screen light to view your path. Try not to flash on the walls of the bush...when you reach the wooden look out area turn off any lights and look for glow worms . They are like tiny stars. They are tiny little brown worms with glowing tail or head I'm not too sure. The size of the worm is just like a grain of a basmati rice.
Kids would love the thrill and enjoy the walk.

Magical. We decided to go during the day to work out where we would be going in the dark to find the glow worms. Good decision, as we managed to explore much more during the day...if goblins and fairies had popped out I wouldn't have been surprised. And at night we went along the easier path but were still able to enjoy the twinkly lights of the glow worms.

Had place to ourselves and waited till dark to see flow worms and was not disappointed. Look to sides under ferns. Path to cascadewas easy. Path near cascades up stairs more challenging but still fun at night.

Absolutely gorgeous. The path is steep at points with several sets of stairs too. Also, be prepared for muddy shoes.

Worth a visit and a peaceful walk, just be prepared to take it slowly.

Melba Gully is simply amazing. The walking track takes you through some amazing forest, where you will see tree ferns and other assorted flora, and hear the sounds of various birds. Some parts of the walking track are very steep, so keep that in mind if you have issues with steep paths and stairs. I would definitely go back.

Huge ferns, lovely (though steep at times) walking track. Glow worms are good to see if people behave and don't use flash photography.
