Great place for a weekend activity. Kids friendly. About 200 Japanese macaques live there. You will walk in the forest path and see a lot of monkeys who’ll be running and sitting around you. The excursion is in German and English.
Highly recommend. Have in mind that park opened from April till September only.

If you happen to be nearby, don't miss visiting this interesting place.
Nature is wonderful, and monkeys are so funny and cute.
We were lucky to be met by a guide who speaks Croatian, so the experience was complete. Anđela is very nice and answered a million of our questions with a smile.

A beautifully landscaped park where monkeys roam freely among visitors. The park is run by guides who are happy to do their job.

Nice place with the kids. Tour to see the monkeys. You walk amongst them but can't touch them unfortunatelly (in case you expect to interact with them)

Playground, food & drinks
Plenty of parking

Amazing park with lots of monkeys, that you can see in their natural habitat. They run around really close to you and doing their funny monkey stuff. 😁

The guided tour was an incredible experience. The guide itself was very knowledgeable and super friendly. I’ve never been to a park where you can get that close to the animals and I highly recommend this for the whole family. It’s also great to go multiple times there be because on every tour you see different monkeys, as the tour roughly covers one third of the entire park.

Unusual attraction - monkeys in Austrian forest are well wort to visit. They get close to the visitors expecting some food from the guide. But they are free raging and some of them never get close to the people. Fenced monkey park is well organised, guides are super professional and personnel attentive. If you come with a dog, you cant enter with it. But they have nice kennels in a shadow, so the dogs can wait in a safe place.

Such a cool experience, you get to see monkeys in their natural environment during the guided tour. We had a great guide, had lots of fun anecdotes to tell, although the monkeys themselves provided enough entertainment and joy.

A very nice park with monkeys and birds. In order to enter you must pay a parking fee of 4 euro and family tickets are 34 euro per each attraction.monkeys are kept well and the guide was perfect.

If you want to see monkeys in the wild then this is the right place to visit! Sadly you cannot pet or touch the animals but you can watch them preform smart tasks. The guide was nice and helped if a monkey was bothering someone.
Quite a memorable trip!

Interesting for children and worth seeing before you go to the castle to watch the birds

The place is amazing and the monkeys are mesmerizing to watch.
Easily one of the things you absolutely must do near villach.

This has been by far one of the most exciting adventures I have ever had in Europe. My family and I did the private tour which was more , but totally worth it. You are literally walking amongst the monkeys seeing them interact with each other and see the hierarchy within the family ranks. The monkeys are very docile, but mind the fact that they are still wild animals. The tour guide was very knowledgeable telling us all about the exhibit/sanctuary and on the private tour allowing us to feed the monkeys several times. Be mindful of your personal items because these monkeys will literally take stuff from your pockets, bags, strollers, and literally your hands if they want it, and if they get it theres no getting it back. This is an attraction for all ages. Everyone in our group had smiles from ear to ear and is very kid friendly. Just keep an eye on the little ones because they do tend tp get themselves into trouble being a little too adventurous. One of the regular tours behind us had a monkey steal a binky/passifire right from a kids mouth.

If you are ever visiting Villach, Austria this needs to be a must do thing. There is also a historical castle right next to the monkey exhibit that has an amazing Austrian restaurant. It sits at the top of this mountain (which does have parking at the top) and gives you an incredible birds eye view of Villach and the surrounding area. Everything is very affordable and absolutely beautiful.

Very lovely experience for kids & parents.
The tour is in English and German, but they also have translations in other languages, he paper. We were from Croatia and we got a Croatian translation, although we speak English.
A very nicely organized, educational experience.

Choose weekdays, check when its open and listen instructions from the tour guide.

Plus: If you're spending a few days in the region, consider obtaining the Kärnten Card may be a good idea, since it grants you free entry to the Affenberg, and you can combine it with the Adler-Arena, which is in walking distance, and is also included in the Kärnten Card.

a very pleasant experience, really worth it! I came back here after a few years and will probably come again. you can be in close contact with the monkeys in their environment, but without bothering them. the animals are treated with a lot of respect.
