My husband and i stayed here for 5 nights in jan 2024. We had an amazing time and really enjoyed how relaxing the hotel was after a days skiing!

Particular highlights were the friendliness and helpfulness of all of the staff, the wonderful food (we chose to eat here 3 out of 5 nights after eating once and it being great) and the lovely bar to relax in before/after dinner.

The hotel has been beautifully renovated and the wellness space is definitely worth a visit!

Practically the hotel is about 5 mins walk (via a helpful lift) to the main street and ski lifts.

We hope to be back again.

We come to this hotel since our daughter was 3 years old; she is now 18. We love the place. It is like coming home every time. The effort everyone makes to make your stay perfect is admirable. We have seen the changes over the years, especially the last years. And although we have always loved the sphere and the people, it has become a real boutique hotel now.
It is close to the ski-lifts, the centre of the lovely village. The food is amazing. The rooms are very comfortable with lovely views.

Thank you host and staff for your wonderful hospitality. Staying in your elegantly restyled hotel feels like home and being a guest at the same time. Delicious food and wines. Staff very professional, friendly and helpful. The wellness after a day on the slopes is a ‘warm’ welcome and the atmosphere in the loungebar completes a day. Hope to see you next year!

Fantastic family run hotel. Renovated rooms are beautifully designed, as are the bar and lounge areas. Staff (particularly Clemens) could not be helpful enough and the food in the evening was varied and very well done. Very close to main Lech streets and the lift down to just behind Strolz makes it a great skiing hotel too. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for a one week ski trip and had an excellent time. We enjoyed the proximity to the lifts, the spacious modern rooms and the delicious food. A special shout-out to Clemens who has been an invaluable resource, from best places to ski to adjusting the excellent food offering for a picky eater.

Hotel Schwarzwand was a perfect venue for our family. It is family owned and run and they were very accommodating. We had dinner there 7 out of the 8 nights we were in Lech. We had young kids (3, 5, and 7) and the kitchen staff was amazing - very creative in their kid-friendly offerings.
We also had some dietary considerations and they bent over backwards to make sure they offered similar food without the dairy.
Clemens was attentive and suggested excellent wines and champagnes throughout the week.
The dining area and bar were warm and inspired out get togethers. We even had friends from Austria join us.
We’ll definitely be back!

This was our first ski trip to Austria & we couldn’t have found a more beautiful & fabulous “home”!! The staff was very helpful, accommodating & fun!! The food & drinks were simply amazing. (Clemons knows his wine & mixes a great cocktail!!) The rooms were spacious, well-appointed & had great storage for all our skiwear. Thank you to the entire staff & family for a wonderful week & we look forward to returning to our Austria “home”!!

We were so pleased upon arrival to see that the hotel was even better than advertised. I’d read on the website about the lovely Italian refurbishments, but was delighted to see that not only were our rooms beautifully designed, but also spacious, bright, warm and very clean. In addition, one of our two rooms sported a lovely view of the Schwarzwand. We were also extremely pleased with the location; off-set from the bustle of the town’s core, but a very quick walk to it and lifts and gondolas.

From the housekeepers who kept our rooms spotless and tidy to our servers in the dining room and lounge, everyone was not just polite but also friendly and professional. A special shout-out to Clemens whose service was unparalleled. The kitchen staff also outdid themselves with the perfect breakfast buffet and splendid four-course dinners. Thank you to the Elsensohn Family who greeted us warmly and provided an exceptional week for our family. We’ve found our new favourite alpine retreat.

We loved our vacation here. The hotel was very clean and perfectly located next to the kids ski area. The staff was very proactive, accommodating, and went over and above to ensure our comfort. We will definitely be back.

We just finished a lovely stay at this impeccable hotel. The hotel and rooms were comfortable, beautifully designed, and functional. The closet was very large and allowed us to fully unpack and feel like we were at home (even with lot's of ski gear). The food for breakfast and dinner were both fantastic: healthy and high-quality. The chef was able to accommodate special requests that made for a wonderful stay. The location is perfect, only a 2 min walk to the Rufikopfbahn gondola or the lifts in Lech. The hotel is not ski-in/out; however, it is not necessary as the Arlberg resort is so massive you will likely be skiing in many locations. The town is very walkable so going to dinner or shopping is only 2 mins away. We will definitely return!

Hotel was very good. Vicky was excellent on reception and was very helpful. The restaurant staff of Clemens, Gemma and Tabor couldn't have been more accommodating to specific requests. Clemens was a knowledgeable sommelier and there was a good selection of wine. The chefs provided a good variety of menus and seemed to accommodate all requests such as vegan and vegetarian. The hotel is beautifully presented in Scandi style which makes it feel open, uncluttered. The ski room was good and had enough space.

We loved the Hotel Schwarzwand in Lech Am Arlberg. The room was superb with a view of the ski run home. Breakfast and dinner was provided and was delicious every day. The hotel is located a very short walk from several lifts and gondolas as well as many places for Apres ski. Clemens , Gemma and Vicky provided exceptional service and Walter, who owns the place has many great stories to tell. Everybody who works at the hotel speaks excellent English so communicating is not a problem. If we returned one day we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Hotel owned by the Elsensohn family and team. The Hotel Schwarzwand is located just above the city center about a 3 min walk from the famous Strolz fashion store and the Hotel Krone (drinks highly recommended).

We love their kindness and their look for perfection. With their Italian touch they started to renovate the house into a modern Austrian-Italian symbiosis with excellent cuisine and a beautiful hotel Lounge and Bar.
We’ve been staying here with our friends and family for several years and enjoy it ever since. Everyone gets along very well, children to seniors, pro skiers to beginners.

We have been coming here for years with the whole family and it feels like coming home every time.

Unfortunately, due to illness 2 family members could not join us last minute. The hotel was very helpful in providing us with the correct documents for our travel insurance.

The lounge, the entrance and the hotel rooms have been upgraded in recent years, providing you with all comforts. The kitchen has also been improved so we are served delicious meals every night.

Finally, compliments for the good service and hospitality. Clemens has served us perfectly and Marlene and the rest of the family has given us a wonderful stay.

We have already made reservations for next year!

Staying at the Schwarzwand was the best decision we made in visiting Lech. The hotel is comfortable and immpecable, and the staff and owner/ proprietors were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The food was also top- notch, perfect breakfast buffets with made to order options as well as gourmet 4- course dinners. The location is a perfect 5 minute walk to the Rufikopf Bahn and several chairlifts all in the center of town. I will only stay at Schwarzwand when I visit Lech!

We’ve been coming here for many years, and everyone has always been super friendly and welcoming.
Beautifully renovated rooms, the bar looks fantastic and the service is amazing.
I’m looking forward to being back again!

I had the most delightful coffee in the sunshine today , thanks to Clements. The lounge space is so comfortable yet sophisticated and the espresso was the best I’ve had in Lech. Thank you! Can’t wait to stay in the space in a future visit.

Best family hotel in town. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food on the best location of Lech. Recommended for ski holidays.

What a fantastic hotel. The owners and staff were so welcoming and polite, wonderful food and a beautifully clean sauna/steam/solarium area with great showers and plenty of fresh towels. Not pretentious like some of the other hotels in Lech. A real genuine friendly and welcoming atmosphere - I'll be back :)

I booked for one week and stayed for two!Very warm, friendly and generous people. I have no hesitation recommending this family run hotel. Thanks for your help getting to the train station too.
