The super friendly sommelier / owner helped us pick 6 excellent and most highly recommended wines from the Wachau Valley. I highly recommend this wine shop if visiting!

Tolle Wauswahl und super schnelle Lieferung, vielen Dank und immer wieder!

日本からの旅行で2018/7に立ち寄りました。3ユーロ位？のワイン3種テイスティングを試しました。オーストリア各地のワインを、特徴を丁寧に英語で説明して貰いながら楽しめました。お値打ちですし30分もかからないので、ドナウ下りまでの待ち時間にも良いです。

Weine ab Mitte der neunziger Jahre im Angebot - ja wo gibt es denn das noch? Mitten in Melk und das mit vernünftig kalkulierten Preisen!! Wer hierherkommt den empfängt nicht nur ein umfangreiches Weinangebot sondern auch ein hochkompetentes und freundliches Personal. Hier macht es Spaß über Wein zu philosophieren und noch mehr diesen dann zu kaufen. Weiter so!

Super schnelle Lieferung,sicher verpackt und die Preise sind meiner Ansicht nach gut. Werde sicher wieder hier Bestellen,Danke :-)

Der Service ist sehr gut, es herrscht ein angenehmes und freundliches Klima. Die Auswahl ist auch sehr beeindruckend. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Very disappointing experience with the owner. We are English, I am mixed race so not white. We walk in and see the owner take someone downstairs, which we find out much later was for a private wine tasting (but through our experience have no idea of this, no one ever told us). We wait for a while, we see someone who we think works there but turns out to be with the customer having a wine tasting, and unknowingly ask if we are allowed downstairs too. Her English was not too good, and we do not know German, so she goes down to ask, and is told to come up and tell us ‘wait’. Bit of a red flag already; don’t send customers to do your work.
So we wait, and eventually the owner comes back upstairs, initially refusing to acknowledge us, instead talking to the other customer. At this point I’m pottering around but my travel companion gets to ask ‘are we allowed to come downstairs?’ The response he got was not clear to us, so he asks politely again. The owner turns with a dirty look and goes ‘Stay here. Is it difficult, are you stupid?’
At this point I come over and try to clarify why we asked-seeing him take someone downstairs when we arrived-but also say he shouldn’t speak to someone like that, at which point he immediately demanded we both leave.

At the least this is incredibly rude behaviour towards customers. The owner comes off as prejudiced against English speakers, and because I am mixed race and was kicked out upon immediately seeing me even comes off as racist. This is very much against our experiences in Melk and Austria before on numerous trips, so it is a shame this individual behaved as such.

The initial photo I used of the owner giving me the middle finger breaks Google Review rules, so I have removed the pictures. Understandable but still disappointing I cannot show said picture and show the man’s face and how he behaved in HD. His picture is, however, on the website and the blog.
