During my time in Yerevan, the most favorable exchange rate from rubles to drams was at the airport exchange office. They have free WiFi available, but please be cautious as the network is not secure and there is no registration required through phone number. Taxi drivers at the entrance do not impose their services on you; you can easily call a taxi through a taxi-hailing app (internet connection is available near the doors).

This is probably one of my favorite airports in the world. The reason why is because of how small it is and how well it is organized.

Once you arrive, you will leave the airplane and go straight to passport control, where there's usually not many people in the line. There's always many windows working, so the line moves very fast. Once you're done with the passport control, you'll go through duty-free, and right after that there you'll see the baggage claim area. After finding your luggage, you'll walk right out from the main airport building.

I love how well it is organized.

I was pleasantly surprised by the service of the airport while traveling to the a baby!
Fast track check-in and fast track passport control were great.
I felt a great care from the officers and airport staff.
They had quite a decent baby changing room. Airport business lounge was very comfortable. Airport isn’t big but has everything required for a convenient travel.

Great airport! Very organised. Arrivals are downstairs, departures upstairs, easy to access any area you need. Beautiful design, spacious, naturally lit during the day, meets higher standards. Staff is very polite and helpful. There is a bag storage room should you wish to go to explore the city. City bus stop located next to the exit, bus number 100 will take you to the Republic Square with travelling time only around 30 minutes. We had amazing experience on Christmas Eve!

Great experience. Comfortable airport with all necessary services. Passport control very fast both on arrival and departure! And the officers are very friendly, something that you can barely see in other countries!
And last but not least- but probably most important: we left our iPad on the plane and realised it 6 hours later! Tried to contact the air company but it was useless. At around 2am!!! contacted the lost and found room of the airport and immediately were told that the gadget was found and brought to them!
So great thanks to the personnel of Yerevan Zvartnots airport for their honesty and decency!

The Airport in general it's in very good condition. It's very small so sometimes when 2 planes arrive same time can be 1h at security check. The rest I would say they handle very well.

Pleasantly surprised with this quaint airport. We drove from Tbilisi to Yerevan. The flight out was our first experience at the airport. We had our rental returned, and were thru customs and security in about ten minutes. There was a longer line in duty free! As water had gone out in our apartment in Yerevan the night before, the showers in the lounge were clutch.

Great service and professionalism. Armen was very helpful, he made our flight much more easier and comfortable by finding for me and my mom great seats and offering to check in my carry-on luggage. Always pleasure to visit my homeland, specially when you receive a great hospitality. Thank you very much !

It was a nice little airport. Arrival was very quick in all stations except customs, where for some reason they only had one man scanning every single passenger’s bags. Other than that it was a nice, relaxing, clean small airport with plenty of amenities. Overall a good experience and a good welcome to Armenia.

The airport was opened in 1961,[2] and following a design competition held in 1970, M. Khachikyan, A. Tarkhanyan, S. Qalashyan, L. Cherkezyan and M. Baghdasaryan won the right to design the first terminal building. The airport was renovated in the 1980s with the development of a new terminal area, in order to meet domestic traffic demands within the Soviet Union.

When Armenia declared its independence from the Soviet Union in the 1990s, the growth of cargo shipments resulted in the construction of a new cargo terminal in 1998 that can handle about 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually.[3] In 2001, a 30-year concession agreement for the management of operations at the airport was signed with Armenia International Airports CJSC, owned by Argentine company Corporación America, which is in turn owned by Armenian Argentine businessman Eduardo Eurnekian. As part of that agreement, Armenia International Airports CJSC renovated the runway, main taxiways and ramp. In 2006, a new gate area and arrivals hall opened, followed by an overall improvement of the airport's fire services, including replacing the entire fire-fighting fleet with new vehicles. A new departures and arrivals terminal, car-parking facility with a capacity of 600 vehicles and a government delegation terminal all opened in 2011. On 30 January 2013, Zvartnots airport was named "Best Airport In The CIS" during the Emerging Markets Airports Award (EMAA) ceremonies held in Dubai, UAE.

My experience was very good as the people were very nice and friendly. The airport well organized, the staff there very helpful.

Zvartnots airport. Yerevan. Everything for the convenience of tourists - banks, ATMs, beautiful flowers, cafes, mobile operators and postal service offices, food shop, car rentals and reliable taxis. That's how beautiful Armenia starts. Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world. Welcome to Armenia.

Cute, compact, friendly airport. Duty free shop is not cheap. Better to buy candies and drinks outside airport. But if you need more alkohol to buy its better to buy in duty free because duty free bags are not luggage:)

Very convenient. Check-in, passport control and security are usually fast and smooth. Decent public Wi-Fi available. Very few places to charge a phone, though. Use an app to get a taxi into the city, because airport taxis are too expensive.
Best views of Mount Ararat, if you are lucky to fly in or out during daytime.

I love this airport, super mellow, never going to wait in any really long lines at security or customs. My only complaint is I feel like this place has a disproportionate number of flights coming and going at late hours 01:00-06:00
