Lin Ancient Mosaics

The place is not easy to find, especially no sign to follow. I asked a few local people and they are all friendly to show me where should I go. I went to the wrong place before I went on the right track. It’s not at the end of the village, you have to make a U-turn from the main street. The path is a slight steep road next to a pinkish old house. I took a few pictures from it, so hopefully you can find it :)

Noted for the next visitor: the mosaics are covered with the protection in winter time(so I didn’t see the whole thing). Summer is good timing for it!

They are keeping the mosaic in a very good condition although the time is passing.
The guy who works there it was very nice to us.
He talked about the mosaic history and and was very helpful!
Also the view that offers this location are magical!!

Historic place.
The mosaic was discovered by excavations in 1969 that were made in Lin, Pogradec. The excavations indicated an Illyrian settlement, which belongs to the Iron Age and dates back to the early Middle Ages. From the mosaics discovered in this country, the riches of a varied zoomorf, herbal and geometric decor, with outstanding artistic value, reveals.

Eshte nje monument shume i vecante si nga historia dhe nga vet bukuria. Nuk duhet humbur nje vizite ne fshatin Lin dhe mozaikun e tij.

Llegamos y en la puerta había un teléfono para llamar (cogimos una tarjeta prepago de Vodafone que va fenomenal para tener Internet en Albania pero nos vino bien para ésto). Llamamos y subió un hombre enseguida. Vistas espectaculares y nos destapó un mosaico para ver. Experiencia muy curiosa y recomendable.
